Nan Walsh is an experienced airport executive with over 30 years of diverse business experience and specialized expertise in airport planning, management, operations, security, airspace, airshow planning and air traffic control.

 

She has an extensive background in airport operations and development and a comprehensive knowledge of business turn-around and growth strategies. She has assisted in negotiations with tenants raising the airport occupancy rate to over 95 percent.  As the Assistant Airport Director for the Lakeland Linder Regional Airport for over 10 years, she developed strong relationships with airport sponsors, planners and FAA/FDOT partners. Responsibilities included transitioning the Lakeland Linder Regional Airport from a General Aviation Reliever Airport to a TSA Federalized Commercial Service Airport.

 

Nan has an extensive background in aviation management, operations and aviation special event planning. including project management for the development of a new runway, taxiways, aprons, navigational aids, MRO facilities, hangar buildings and other airport related developments. Nan has held numerous positions within the FAA as a Supervisory Air Traffic Control Specialist and was a Captain for Northwest Airlink. She has a unique knowledge of airspace and air traffic control including, instrument approach procedures and large aviation special event planning.

 

Nan developed and implemented airport special event procedures involving security and operations for the country’s second largest annual fly-in and exposition and numerous other airport special events while successfully integrating Commercial and General Aviation operations.

 

Nan served as the Project Manager for Airport Capital Improvements including extensive Security upgrades, Instrument Landing System Relocation, new fuel farm, dual-house fire station, new runway construction, Terminal Expansion and Modifications to accommodate TSA, Airside Aprons and Taxiway Extension, Runway Pavement Rehabilitation, Runway Safety Area Improvements, Terminal Parking Expansion, Realignment of Taxiways; and Regional Pond.

 

Notable achievements include the siting, design, and construction of a new Air Traffic Control Tower, development of the Airport Master Plan update, development of the Airport Emergency Plan, Airport Certification Manual and comprehensive Airport Security Plan.
